The Guilty party has his choice. Death by Electrocution Death by Death by Gas, Death by Phaser, Death by hanging, and a many other methods.

Harcourt Fenton Mudd: 

Mudd had been selling Illegal Patients. When Later questioned, he called it a Technical Information Service, that brings modern Industrial Techniques to backwards planets. But in truth is he was selling Patients to other worlds without paying Royalties.

The Particulars in the Crime here at Deneb 5 was that he sold us the Rights to a Vulcan Fuel Synthesizer. We Contacted the Vulcans to find that Mr. Mudd had not Paid Royalties.

He was arrested, and was to be punished for fraud as the Law allows. he Broke jail, and stole a Space Craft. Our Patrol pursued him, fired damaging the ship. but he was Still able to Escape.
