Since the Enterprise was operating in this Sector, she was assigned to transport ambassadors of Federation Planets to this to this vitally Important Council. The issues of the council were Politically Complex. The Passengers  were expositive in nature.

The Interplanetary Conference was to conceder the petition of the Coridan Planets to be admitted to the Federation. The Coridan system has been clammed by some of the races that were aboard the Enterprise as delegates. Races who have strong personal reasons for keeping Coridan out of the Federation.

Vulcans Favored Admissions. Tellerites did not. The reason for the Vulcans was, "Under Federation Law Coridan Can be protected, and it's wealth administrated for the Benefit of it's people."

TNG Extension: The Planet Coridan was Admitted to the Federation.
