The Writer's of Star Trek tried to avoid pinning down the date of
TOS Star
Trek. Because of this, any attempt to figure out the year of any particular Star
Trek event is hard, and leads to many errors. The answer to the problem is to
track events of TOS in relation to each other, not in relation to today's
Events. Thus the Exploration Era calendar is born.
How it works: (Full
Explanation of the EE Calendar)
First what is needed is a solid base. The whole calendar is explained in
better detail on the link above. First you need a Zero event, which for me is the
loss of the SS Columbia. The base is, that it was 18 years after that (EE18)
"The Cage" Occurred. "The Menagerie"
is said to have occurred 13 years after
that in EE31. |

Dating the EE Calendar:
The year as I have figured so far has a few problems, but it generally
accurate within maybe a year or 2 in either direction. The TNG
episode "The
Neutral Zone" states the year of that episode is 2364. One Season, One year,
works better for TNG then it does for TOS. So that roughly places the
TNG
Episode "Sarek" in 2366.
Picard tells us Sarek was 202 in that Episode. McCoy Tells us that Sarek is 102
in "Journey to Babel". Meaning they are 100 years apart. giving
the adventure of "Journey to Babel" 2266. Although I might be wrong,
"Journey to Babel" appears to be an EE33 Adventure. Tracking backwards gives
EE0 the date of 2233. |
